Bugler sets sights on home start

BEAMINSTER v

MARNHULL

BEAMINSTER welcome Marnhull to the Memorial Ground tomorrow (2pm) with both sides desperately looking for a win to kick-start their 2008 campaigns.

Richard Bugler oversaw a heavy defeat last weekend to Stalbridge, whom he believes will contest the title as the season progresses, but is optimistic that his players can put that reverse to the back of their minds and focus on starting positively at home.

Like neighbours Bridport, Beaminster were also without several key players on Saturday, but on their trusty wickets, Bugler believes that his side can record that all-important first victory.

"It's our first home game and we're playing against a team we have beaten as many times as we've lost to them.

"We're looking forward to playing on our pitches and are confident that we can put on a better showing than Saturday and win"

Marnhull remarkably tied their opening match against Broadstone II as both sides made 177 in a nail-biting encounter in north Dorset.

But Beaminster will once again be depleted and have to take on the visitors without batsman Julian Davies, bowler Fred Etherington and Aussie signing Jason Dandridge, who is expected to arrive in England sometime next week.
