WEYMOUTH 2

(Malcolm 24, Bygrave 49)

HISTON 5

(Midson 31, Bygrave og 33, Reeves 63, 72, Wright 90)

INDECISIVE defending saw Weymouth's unbeaten home record blown to pieces by Histon at the Wessex Stadium on Saturday.

Michael Malcolm put the Terras ahead with a curler from long range on 24 minutes but the visitors levelled just seven minutes later when Jack Midson's shot ricocheted past keeper Richard Barnard off the leg of a defender.

Adam Bygrave then headed into his own net moments later but he soon made amends for his error four minutes after the break when he got on the end of a corner to restore parity once again.

However, the home side's backline never looked assured in the wet conditions and the Stutes soon hit back with two goals from Damien Reeves and a late strike from Danny Wright to claim the three points much to the disappointment of the home crowd.

simply these players weren't good enough against what looked a decent side.

cannot afford to make the same mistakes as last season, so the defending neeeds to improve quickly.

Also, i believe that the squad is looking a bit thin, and that we will struggle with 4 or 5 injuries. A few players on loan may be good.

I thought Histon were poor - we were just even worse on the day.

Their players had no skill whatsoever and just kicked a few of the boys early on. after that we did not really compete
