JASON Matthews has sealed a double deal by signing two youngsters from Plymouth Argyle.

The Terras’ boss has clinched the signatures of defender Jamie Richards and winger Isaac Vassell on loan until the end of the season.

Richards, 19, who returns to the Bob Lucas Stadium after making six appearances for Weymouth at the back end of last season, joined Argyle at the age of nine and has progressed through the club’s centre of excellence.

Meanwhile, winger Vassell, 20, is a nephew of former England international Darius Vassell.
He has also progressed through the Devon club’s youth system and made his Football League debut in 2011.

A delighted Matthews, who side entertain struggling Bashley today (3pm) in the Calor Southern Premier Division, said: “Plymouth have done us a massive favour by allowing these players to join and I would like to thank them.

“I feel things are moving in the right direction with the squad.

“We have a great training session on Thursday night and things are looking very positive with an eye on next season.

“We’ve had a lot of injuries recently and, with the two Plymouth lads coming in and Jake Green declaring himself fit, I actually have a selection headache for the first time tomorrow.”
