PLYMOUTH PARKWAY 2 WEYMOUTH 3

SUBSTITUTE Conor Jevon came off the bench to score the winner ten minutes from time in Weymouth’s 3-2 pre-season victory over Plymouth Parkway at Bolitho Park this afternoon.

The result means that the Terras are still unbeaten going into their pre-season clash against Torquay United at the Bob Lucas Stadium on Tuesday evening (7.45pm).

Jordan Copp, who agreed non-contract terms with the club following their last outing at Portland United, opened the scoring on 13 minutes for the visitors, but his effort was soon cancelled out by Parkway’s Levi Landricombe.

A chance then fell to Jacob Wannell, who forced a smart save from the home goalkeeper, and player-manager Jason Matthews was called into action to deny Danny Lewis as the sides went in at half time deadlocked at 1-1.

After the break, the Terras fell behind on 53 minutes when Lewis rose highest from a corner and glanced the ball into the top corner.

But Weymouth’s Shane Krac then provided a neat finish just past the hour mark to notch his second strike of pre-season, and draw the contest level once more.

The stage was then set for Jevon, who no less than two minutes after coming on as a substitute for Adam Kelly, latched on to a through ball and struck his effort home to give the Terras the victory.

Terras: Matthews, West (C Laird 63), Wannell (Rigg 60), Krac, J Laird, Palmer, Kelly (Jevon 78), McPhee, Yetton (Ford 84), Colwell, Copp.
