WEYMOUTH will be on the road for the second time in this season’s FA Cup after they were paired with Billericay Town following yesterday’s draw at Wembley.

The Terras, who beat Bideford 4-1 at the Bob Lucas Stadium on Saturday to book their place in the third qualifying round, will travel to Essex to face the Blues on October 11, with £7,500 in prize money at stake.

Hosts Billericay ply their trade in the Isthmian Premier League, the same step as the Terras, and currently occupy 10th in the league pile.

Boss Jason Matthews, who has previously taken on the Blues when he was a Dorchester Town player, thinks they represent a difficult prospect, but believes his squad is more than capable of getting a result.

“I think it’s a tough draw and a tough place to go,” he told Echo-sport.

“I have played against them a couple of times and I know what their pitch is like.

“They are obviously at the same level as us but in a different region and I will expect a tough game at Billericay, but it’s definitely winnable. We will go there and be positive.”

And the player-manager is expecting the Terras’ faithful to provide a special cup atmosphere at New Lodge.

“Our fans will come up in force,” he added.

“Our away following is second to none and I have been privileged to have eight or nine seasons of it, this year it has been absolutely fantastic.”
