TRISTAN Plummer has revealed how Terras’ assistant-manager Craig Laird helped him rekindle his love for the game during their time together at Weston-super-Mare.

The duo linked up last season when Laird was manager of the Seagulls and, after putting in some impressive performances, 24-year-old Plummer earned his move to Aldershot Town in January.

And the former Bristol City youngster, who showcased some of his trickery on his Terras’ debut against Shortwood last weekend, is delighted to be working alongside his former boss once again.

“I am happy to come down here and be working with Lairdy again,” he told Echosport.

“I gave him a call and I was glad that he said he was interested in me and wanted me to come down and help out.

“I was at Bristol City before and obviously got released from there and went to Portugal for a bit and fell out of love with football.

“Going with Lairdy when he gave me a call from Weston made me love football again, so I am very thankful for that. I did very well there and got a move to Aldershot in January so I can’t complain and I thank him very much.”

Plummer, who was already familiar with George Rigg and Jamie Laird in the Weymouth set-up before penning his initial one-month stay at the Bob Lucas Stadium, has high hopes of getting minutes under his belt and is eager to aid the Terras in their push for success.

He added: “I have come down here to get minutes because I have had loads of injuries so far with Aldershot.

“I have been out for so long and the players that have been playing are match fit. I’m not match fit yet so I just want to get minutes down here and see what happens.

“I just want to get as many minutes as I can and help the team out as many ways as I can.

“If I can assist and get a few goals then great, just as long as we win a few games, that’s the most important thing.”

The Terras will be home to Hamworthy Recreation in the quarter-finals of the Dorset Senior Cup on Tuesday, December 2 (7.45pm).

This means that Weymouth's home league fixture with St Neots Town needs to be rearranged for another date.
