PERMANENT deals could be on the horizon for Terras’ loan duo Tristan Plummer and Calvin Brooks, if they have ambtitions to make them happen.

Both players are set to feature when Weymouth do battle with Burnham in the FA Trophy second qualifying round at the Bob Lucas Stadium today (3pm).

Brooks has been a mainstay at the heart of a solid Weymouth backline since he arrived on loan from Yeovil Town in September, and Plummer has impressed during his current spell from Aldershot Town, having found the net at Hitchin Town on his league debut.

And although no permanent moves have been made as of yet for the duo, player-manager Jason Matthews insists that there could be room for manoeuvre in securing the pair long term.

“I have got scope to bring them in,” he told Echosport.

“Having Calvin and Tristan on loan has given us an added edge and everyone is playing for their place.

“There is scope to sign them both permanently, as to whether they will want to come, they are both young lads and they may have ambitions to play in the Football League.

“We are talking about a former England Youth international in Tristan, so it makes you realise what we have actually signed in him and he has had an impact since he has come in.

“Saying that, the lads that have played in his position have done extremely well and, while he is here, it gives me a selection headache.”
