UNBEATEN records are once again at stake as Weymouth lock horns with in-form Hungerford Town today (3pm).

Having secured a point against Truro City with just 10 men on New Year’s Day, the Terras will put their 12-game run in the league without defeat on the line against the Crusaders, who are also undefeated in seven, winning six of those contests in total.

The Bulpit Lane side currently occupy sixth place in the league table, three points behind Jason Matthews’ charges following their 2-1 win over Slough Town last time out.

Former Republic of Ireland winger Alan O’Brien secured the points for his side in that game with a second-half brace.

And while Terras’ boss Matthews insists his side will be respectful to the threats the Crusaders have in their ranks, which include experienced striker Mark Draycott, he sees no reason to be fearful.

“We are going to get an extremely tough test, Hungerford are in-form and so are we so it should be a good game,” he told Echosport.

“We look forward to these games, I know what Hungerford are about, I know their manager well and we will go there and try to grind out a result.

“They have got a good team but so have we, if we go there and address it right there is no reason why we shouldn’t win.

“We need to go there and not get beat, but, at the same time, it’s not a disaster if we do because we have put ourselves in a good position.”

Sam Poole is expected to miss out today as he continues to nurse a broken nose, meaning central defender Callum Laird will be retained by Matthews for the travelling party.
