MIDFIELD general Chris McPhee has urged the entire Terras’ squad to bring their best to Tatnam today (3pm), ahead of their derby with the Dolphins.

The 31-year-old, a player-coach at the Bob Lucas Stadium, insists there has been a buzz around the Weymouth camp about the fixture all season, but stresses it is important to remain level-headed about the task at hand.

He told Echosport: “We need to try and treat it as normally as possible and not get carried away by the occasion.

“In terms of contending, everybody is looking at us and them to win the league.

“We have to make sure that when we turn up at Poole we give our A game. We can’t afford to be not at the races, we can’t afford to give them opportunities from our own doing, we have to be solid and disciplined.

“We are still a million miles away from our best in terms of consistency through 90 minutes, so we will be looking for a good performance over 90 minutes, to make sure our concentration is solid, and make sure we play with plenty of confidence going forward.

“Especially in the first 15 or 20 minutes, we need make sure we have a building block. We can’t win the game in the first 15 minutes but, as we have seen earlier on in the season, we can lose it.

“All the boys are relishing the opportunity to play against Poole, it has been talked about all season about it being between us and them.

“We felt right in pre-season that our aim was to win this league, that has been our target from the outset, and Poole have been our biggest rivals throughout the season.”
