IT could be a case of third time lucky for Weymouth Reserves tomorrow as they finally look to take on Shaftesbury Town at Cockrams (3pm).

Hit by two postponements against the Rockies due to the weather already this season, Jake Richmond’s men, who have been in sublime form in the league of late, will be looking to secure their 19th league success of the season.

“It has been called off twice because of the weather so hopefully we can get a game on," the Terras boss told Echosport. "We were a little bit unfortunate in the cup last weekend but I am sure the lads will get back on it."

Weymouth are set to be without Aston Butcher who is unavailable, but are hoping Jamie Beasley will be fit after suffering from a tight hamstring.

Polish playmaker Szymon Matuszewski is also set to return after being ruled out of the Dorset Premier League Cup semi-final with Hamworthy Recreation, and Richmond believes that is a massive boost for his squad.

He added: “Szymon has been on fire over the last three or four games he has played and has really stood out for me.

“He was a big miss last weekend because he just drops in the pocket behind the striker and links everything up so well.

“I personally think he should play at a higher level and that’s why we brought him to the club.

“For our level he is outstanding. It’s not a one-man show by any stretch of the imagination because he has good players around him, but he is very good to watch.”

Shaftesbury currently sit seventh in the Dorset Premier League table, three places and 11 points behind Weymouth.
