IRATE Terras’ manager Jason Matthews could not believe the catastrophic errors his side made after their bizarre 3-3 draw with relegated Burnham.

The visitors capitalised twice on naive Weymouth defending in stoppage time to give themselves a 3-2 advantage, after going 2-1 down minutes earlier. It was then left to Tim Sills to salvage a late equaliser for the home team.

But that did not stop player-boss Matthews going absolutelyballistic at his squad after the contest.

“I was livid, it’s the most frustrated I have ever been,” he said. “I let them have it after, it’s not acceptable and they are killing me at the end of the day, but most of them are out of contract in the summer and a few of them have got to have a look at themselves after that performance.

“I have been good as gold and protected them a lot this season but the defending on Saturday can’t be accepted.

“It was absolutely unbelievable and I am very disappointed.

“When you are in a dog-fight like this to get into the play-offs you need everyone and people are coming up short. We got what we thought was the winner to be 2-1 up and to absolutely commit suicide twice is just unacceptable.”

On the Blues’ third goal, he added: “I have two centre-halves with more than 500 appearances between them out there, yes there is an inexperienced keeper, but the ball needed to be dealt with. It should have gone out of the ground.

“It’s a learning curve for Joe Wollacott and he has got to be mentally strong now. He has come in and done well for me but it just didn’t go his way at the end.

“The players have got to pick themselves up, they are paid to do a job and if it doesn’t run your way you should keep going until people say differently."
