DORCHESTER Town chief Mark Jermyn admitted a point was probably a fair result in their Dorset derby with Poole Town but still thought his side could have pinched all three.

While both teams had chances to win a tight affair at Tatnam, the Magpies’ boss, while content with a draw, insisted he still had a burning desire to get three points against the Dolphins.

He told Echosport: “To win the game we would have been very happy but to lose it we would have been very unhappy. I feel a draw was probably a fair result.

“I do appreciate that they had chances as well so it could have turned either way.

“It was a good point but I was a little frustrated that we didn’t get more out of the game.

“People said to me at the end it was great to get a point. It was, but I wanted to win.

“I believe in this group of players and I think we have shown it against some of the top sides.”

He added: “Had either team scored one goal, I think that would have been them shutting up shop.

“I think we edged it with a little more possession but they got Devlin on the ball and he got them playing.

“Apart from that we dealt with them pretty well, we are a team that are always looking to improve and I think this is another notch on our belt to look back and reflect on the positives.”
