JASON Matthews has revealed midfielder George Rigg could be out for another three weeks after scans revealed ligament damage to his ankle.

Former Bristol City and Stoke City man Rigg picked up the problem during the first half of Weymouth’s trip to Wimborne Town in the Red Insure Cup earlier this month.

He is set to miss out on the Terras’ home encounter with King’s Lynn Town at the Bob Lucas Stadium tomorrow (3pm).

Mark Molesley is also a major doubt with a calf injury which he also picked up at Cuthbury, and Adam Kelly is still touch-and-go for the clash against 15th-placed Lynn due to a hamstring problem.

Matthews told Echosport: “We have a few injuries and it always seems to be to the same type of players at the same time.

“That is a little disappointing but I have full faith in the squad I have got.

“Billy Lowes has been excellent and I think Dean Evans has been outstanding. It just shows how well they are both playing for Chris McPhee not to be able to get in the midfield.

“George is still looking at two to three weeks out with his ligaments. Mark Molesley is a major doubt and Adam Kelly is still 50-50 with his hamstring.”

The Weymouth chief has done his utmost to gather information on King’s Lynn, including sending a scout to produce a report on the Linnets’ 2-1 win at Histon in midweek.

Aided by the contacts he has in the Evo-Stik Southern Premier Division, Matthews has also managed to collate further opinions about this weekend’s opposition.

He added: “I have spoken to a couple of managers about them (King’s Lynn) and, by all accounts, their position in the league doesn’t do them justice.

“But it boils down to us and the way we play, and we had a chat about that after the Chippenham game.

“Hopefully, with the rain we have had, it will put a little bit of zip on the surface. We want to zip it around and replicate our good away performances at home.”
