BOSS Jason Matthews faces another race against time to be fit for the Terras next test at Bideford tomorrow (7.45pm).

The Weymouth stopper, who was forced off against Merthyr Town with a heel injury in his side’s last league outing, suffered a recurrence of the problem during the 4-1 FA Trophy victory against Bedford Town.

He was replaced by stand-in stopper Steve Boore around 10 minutes into the second half at the Eyrie.

Explaining how the injury transpired once again, Matthews told Echosport: “I made a save in the first half and the lad stood on my heel.

“It is really sore and I would say I would be doubtful for this week.

“It’s given me quite a bit of discomfort after making good progress. It may be a chance for me to rest but we will see how I react.

“I wouldn’t be able to play as it is at the moment (on Saturday) but, in fairness, Steve Boore came on and played very well again.

“His kicking was good and he made one great save, he’s a credit to himself and the club.”

Asked whether he would look to get another keeper in for the clash with the Robins, Matthews added: “It would be a bit of a risk to only have one fit keeper in the club.

“We will have a little look and take it from there.”
