JASON Matthews insists his Terras’ troops have “nothing to lose” after their fourth qualifying round FA Cup opponents were revealed.

The Terras will visit Kidderminster Harriers in the next round of the competition on Saturday, October 15, with a whopping £12,500 in prize money up for grabs.

Harriers are currently fourth in National League North, a division above Matthews’ men, but the Weymouth player-manager is looking forward to the occasion.

He told Echosport: “It will be a tough game and they are going well this season but obviously it is a nice ground and a nice place to play. It should suit the way we play and I am really looking forward to it, if I’m honest.

“It’s usually a good atmosphere at Kidderminster and it’s something for us to look forward to. We have everything to gain and nothing to lose and I urge the boys to put in a really good performance there.”

Reflecting on past battles with Kidderminster, the Terras’ chief fondly remembers saving two penalties for Weymouth in an FA Trophy second round replay at Aggborough, in January 2008.

“I always remember Kidderminster being a really good game and they were always one of the bigger sides in the Conference,” Matthews added.

But first up for the Terras’ boss is a return to action in the League Challenge Cup tomorrow, when Wimborne Town visit the Bob Lucas Stadium (7.45pm).

Matthews himself is expected to play a part, as well as Conor Jevon, Sam Jordan and Billy Lowes.

He added: “We should still have a strong team and I look forward to playing Wimborne.

"They try and play some good football and that’s a credit to Matty Holmes.”
