JASON Matthews has called for a big reaction from his side when they host Hayes & Yeading United tonight (7.45pm).

The Terras’ boss admitted a number of his squad were “bitterly disappointed” following Saturday’s 3-1 defeat at Kettering Town and the Weymouth player-manager also hinted at making changes ahead of what he described as a “must-win” home game.

Ashley Wells is set to return to the squad after missing out on the weekend through illness, while goalkeeper Matthews may end up stepping back between the sticks himself, as Dan Thomas has picked up a hip injury.

The Terras’ chief told Echosport: “Saturday didn’t go to plan but I am looking forward to going out there and putting it right at home tonight.

“It’s another game which I would class as a must-win game. You have to win your home games and we need to put on a performance to keep the supporters happy at home.

“I tried to play a different way away from home on Saturday and it didn’t come off for us.

“Obviously a couple of people didn’t do themselves justice on Saturday and I will address that.

“I know there were quite a few lads that were bitterly disappointed, we need to move on and put it right.”

Tonight may also see first home appearances for loan duo Stuart Fleetwood and Bradley Tarbuck, who Matthews praised after Saturday’s defeat to the Poppies.

Asked whether he felt they could have a big impact over the coming weeks, he replied: “Definitely, it’s a big month for myself and the club and we need to get some positive results.

“Bringing in two attacking players basically reinforces the way I want to play.”
