MANAGER Jason Matthews expressed his delight with a “professional job” done by the Terras, as they smashed Cirencester Town for four in a 4-0 victory at the Bob Lucas Stadium.

The Weymouth player-manager has received stark criticism from the club’s supporters of late for their league position, but an assured display against a lacklustre Centurions side eased the pressure on him slightly.

“We did a professional job and finally took some of our chances. It could have been a lot more,” he told Echosport.

“Now, we need to take it on to the St Neots game and start winning the games we have in hand.”

He continued: “The way we went about our business was pleasing and I felt there was a much better atmosphere around the ground. That really helped.

“It was a good day at the office but I am not getting carried away, if people will give me the chance over the next few weeks, let’s see where that takes us.

“I thought the fans got behind us right from the start because we pressed the ball well. We gave them something to cheer.

“We were written off before the start of the game but we have come good, which is really pleasing for me and gives me a good feeling.”
