WEYMOUTH assistant-manager Tom Prodomo insists it is “business as usual” for the Terras as the play-offs loom on the horizon.

Manager Mark Molesley’s men face Hitchin Town on Saturday knowing a home tie is still a possibility, with the Terras reliant on other results going their way, and scoring heavily, should they beat the Canaries.

But Prodomo stressed the importance of preparing “correctly” for the Hitchin clash as Weymouth, who sit fifth, enter their final home game of the regular season.

He told Echosport: “Regardless of whether it brings a home or away tie it’s important that we treat this week correctly, show Hitchin the respect they deserve and prepare properly.

“If we take our foot off the pedal it will cause us problems, so for us it’s business as usual, everyone is focusing on Saturday.”

With the Terras’ faithful getting behind the side, Prodomo also thanked home and travelling fans for their support this season.

He said: “The most important thing for us is to continue to win games. A home tie would be really nice for the fans. They’ve been first-class all season both home and away.”

Prodomo added that even if the Terras were unsuccessful in securing a home tie, his side is capable of beating any opponent in the league.

“We’re confident to play against anyone in the league, home or away. We’ve got the players within our team to keep it tight at one end and create opportunities at the other.

“It’s important that we don’t go chasing and focus on the game in hand, go through the right processes to help finish the league season strongly and prepare well for Wednesday and whoever we face,” he said.

On a personal level, Prodomo admitted stepping into the assistant-manager’s shoes has not been a radical difference from his old role.

He said: “It’s not been a major departure from how the staff were operating, it’s just offered a bit more clarity. The staff work well together, there’s a great rapport. I’m very proud to be part of the football club.”

Meanwhile, Weymouth’s presentation evening takes place at the Centenary Club on Friday, May 18 at 7pm.
