WEYMOUTH manager Matty Hale is hoping four new signings will help turn the club’s fortunes in tonight’s clash at Maidenhead United (7.45pm).
The Terras’ boss has signed ex-Swindon Town midfielder Chris Allen on non-contract terms and last night was frantically trying to tie up deals with two centre-backs and a forward.
Hale, who has watched his side suffer heavy defeats against Eastleigh and Bishop’s Stortford in their last two Blue Square South encounters, said: “I am hoping to have four new players in the squad tomorrow night.
“Chris Allen has signed on non-contract terms and we are also trying to bring in two centre-halves and a forward on loan.
“It is also possible that Dean Smith could be fit as well. He is desperate to play and that is the type of character we need at the moment.
“Jake Reid will also be in the squad again after performing well when he came off the bench on Saturday, along with Matt Groves, who is back in contention.
“Jordan Rose could also be fit but Joe Arnold is still struggling with his thigh and is unlikely to be 100 per cent for a couple of weeks.”
Like the Terras, Maidenhead have only claimed one point from their first three games and Hale is hoping his side can come away with at least a draw.
He added: “We have got to come away with something and get some confidence back into the camp. Hopefully three or four new faces will show we mean business.”
* WFC Supporters Travel Club is running a coach to Maidenhead.
It will leave the Wessex Stadium at 3.15pm and the cost is £18 for adults and £9 for under-16s. Call Ian White on 836361 for more details.
