Striking rebuff for Hutch

WEYMOUTH BOSS: Ian Hutchinson WEYMOUTH BOSS: Ian Hutchinson

WEYMOUTH have missed out on the loan signing of two AFC Totton strikers.

Manager Ian Hutchinson enquired about ex-Havant & Waterlooville man James Taylor and former Eastleigh forward Brett Williams but was rebuffed in his attempts.

Hutchinson said: “James has vast experience and is a good target man but Totton weren’t looking to let him or Brett go.

“It’s unfortunate but we’ll keep looking and go again, but I believe in the group of players we have here.”

However, at the other end of the pitch, the Terras have lost goalkeeper Simon Evans to rivals Dorchester Town.

The custodian has been on loan at Bridport in recent months after failing to break into the Terras’ line-up this campaign, with Ryan Harrison maintaining his grip on the number one spot.

“Simon has found it very difficult to oust Ryan, who has been in tip-top form,” said Hutchinson. “He has shown a great attitude throughout in very difficult circumstances with him being number two.”
