WEYMOUTH boss Brendon King is on the verge of adding to his arsenal.
As revealed in yesterday’s Echosport, the Terras’ chief is in advanced talks with a mystery forward.
And it appears King is close to concluding a deal ahead of this weekend’s home clash with Cirencester.
He told Echosport: “I’ve been on the phone to him (yesterday) and we have sort of agreed a deal.
“I just need to okay it with the board and if things are okay then hopefully we will get him in for Saturday.
“It’s looking very positive, he is keen to come and hopefully I’ll have more information soon.”
Having failed to find the net in his previous seven outings, skipper Warren Byerley ended his goal drought with a brace in Tuesday night’s 2-1 win at Stourbridge.
And King had nothing but praise for his top scorer, adding: “To be fair, we hadn’t been creating many chances for the boys up front.
“But on Tuesday we created more chances than we had done in our previous three or four games.
“Wozza was going through a lean spell but I never doubted his work-rate. All strikers go through periods, it’s about how they react.
“He needed a goal and he showed a lot of character to step up and take the penalty on Tuesday. He’s buzzing now.”
