THE Terras are close to completing a second loan move for Crawley Town midfielder Byron Napper.
The 19-year-old, who returned to the League Two outfit last Sunday, initially looked set to go elsewhere but it appears Weymouth are now in the driving seat to regain his services.
Boss Brendon King told Echosport: “Byron may be coming back and there is a chance everything could be sorted out in time for him to feature in Saturday’s home game against Cirencester Town.
“It is something we have been working very hard on and now it’s just a case of dotting the i’s and crossing the t’s.
“Byron has been away with Crawley at a camp in Portugal and they only got back yesterday so we are just waiting for the green light to go ahead with it.”
Meanwhile, Lewis Tasker has left the club for pastures new. King went on to add: “Lewis has been finding it difficult to get down here for training of late so he is going to join Evesham United now and we wish him well for the future.”
Negotiations are also ongoing with an unnamed striker and AFC Totton over the availability of James Coutts.
King said: “The loan deal for James has hit a bit of a snag but talks are still taking place.
“As for the forward I have been talking to, I have been given the okay from the board and now it is just a case of getting the paperwork completed.
“I am hopeful he will be another one joining the squad tomorrow.”
When asked to comment further on the mystery man, King went on to say: “He is nippy and very lively around the box.
“He also has a decent pedigree and is still young so hopefully he can come here and make a big impact.”
