NIGEL Biddlecombe branded the Terras’ end-of-season presentation night at the Bob Lucas Stadium an enormous success.

Not only was the evening a sell-out but it also provided the club with an opportunity to give thanks to its fantastic volunteers and supporters.

Biddlecombe told Echosport: “It really was fantastic.

“There was a full house and many congratulations go to the Weymouth FC Supporters Association for organising such a great event.

“A fair amount of money was raised for the WFCSA and a bit of brisk business was done at the bar as well but more importantly it also gave the club a chance to give some mementos to our amazing volunteers and show our appreciation to our wonderful supporters.

“The patience and support they have given the new board since we took over has just been fantastic and we thank them all.

“On a personal note, I was also left speechless on the night when I was presented with an absolutely incredible framed shirt and I am very grateful to the WFCSA and the businesses that were involved in putting that together for me.

“Although I would love to have it at home, I have decided to hang it in the boardroom so people can pop in whenever they like and take a look at it.”

Several players also picked up awards on the evening including Warren Byerley (supporters’ player of the year, top goalscorer), Sam Poole (joint-players’ player of the year, manager’s player of the year) and Byron Napper (joint players’ player of the year).

Charlie Holland (best improved reserve-player of the year), Chris Povall (supporters’ reserve-player of the year), Lee Sharpe (managers’ reserve-player of the year) and Adam Anstey (players’ reserve-player of the year) also claimed accolades for the reserve-team.
