HIGH RISER: Matthew Bailey outjumps Exeter City's former Terra Richard Logan
WEYMOUTH loanee Matthew Bailey has insisted that the Terras "are more than capable" of moving clear of the Blue Square Premier drop-zone.
The 22-year-old has made a big impact since moving to the Wessex Stadium and he believes this afternoon's game against Oxford United and Tuesday's clash with Grays Athletic are two great opportunities to gain a couple of vital home victories.
The Terras are currently in 18th spot, just two points above the bottom four, but they do hold two games in hand on fellow strugglers Altrincham who lie one place below them.
Bailey said: "When you play at home it gives you a bit more confidence because you know the bulk of the supporters are behind you so hopefully in the next two games we can get two good results which will hopefully see us clear.
"We should have buried Farsley Celtic last Saturday and that defeat did knock us back a little bit but we know through beating Exeter City that we should not be in this situation and are more than capable of getting out of it.
"The football this team can produce is of a very high quality and that is why I am enjoying my time here so much. I came here to gain some experience in a good competitive league and I am getting that and more. The lads are great and I really look forward to every game we play."

Bailey began his career as a striker but Crewe boss Steve Holland is keen to mould him into a central defender.
When asked which position he prefers, Bailey said: "I don't mind to be fair as long as I am playing and enjoying it.
"I like scoring goals and stuff like that but I also enjoy defending as well.
And when you get a great partner at the back like I have got in Chris Blackburn here at Weymouth it makes things even better."
This is not the first time that Bailey has played under Terras' boss John Hollins and he has the utmost respect for the Chelsea legend.
He said: "I was with John at Stockport County and he is a good manager. He is very approachable and easy to talk to, and he is also very good tactically."
Bailey's current contract at Crewe expires in the summer and it is still unclear what the future holds for him but he has been receiving encouraging words from the coaching staff at Gresty Road.
He said: "They have not spoken to me yet in terms of the future but they are happy with how I have been doing. I only changed to a centre-half this season and they are pleased with the progress I have been making since the switch.
"They keep telling me I am going in the right direction and being here playing regularly at Weymouth can only help."
