Harriers in sights
ALWAYS A THREAT: Stuart Beavon
ALWAYS A THREAT: Stuart Beavon

WEYMOUTH manager John Hollins is wary of a dangerous Kidderminster Harriers side ahead of tomorrow's Blue Square Premier clash at the Wessex Stadium (3pm).

Harriers have gone seven games unbeaten, each of which seeing top scorer Iyseden Christie on the score-sheet, but the Terras will be in confident mood having picked up a win and two draws from their last three fixtures.

Hollins is hoping his side can continue the good work from Tuesday night's 2-1 success over Droylsden.

He said: "More of the same basically. Kidderminster can't get into the play-offs but their run of late has been play-off form and they haven't lost for a while.

"They will be relaxed and I'm sure their manager will want to carry the form on right through to the end of the season. It's going to be a tough game for us. We've just played bottom of the league and that was a nervy game, tomorrow will be the same.

"We need to get something against Kidderminster. I would love to get three points but if it's just one then it's one we must take."

Weymouth gave their survival hopes a massive lift on Tuesday and now lie three points clear of the bottom four.

Hollins added: "There's still a lot of tension but there were lots of relieved faces after Tuesday's win. The support we had was fantastic, everyone got behind us.

"People come to see us win and hopefully we will give them that. There was a doubt about our home form but I think we are starting to get things right."

Striker Stuart Beavon netted his first league goal since September on Tuesday night to the delight of Hollins.

He said: "Beavon's always been a threat, the lift from scoring will encourage him to get on the end of chances and to shoot more. Simon Weatherstone is in a good vein of form right now as is Anton Robinson and James Coutts."

On the injury front it looks as though Hollins will once again decide not to risk Michael Malcolm while Trevor Challis played 90 minutes on Tuesday despite a calf complaint.

Hollins added: "I would love to have Michael back but he is doubtful, we will need to be directed by the doctors and at the end of the day a player's health comes first.

"Trevor is playing on adrenaline at the moment. He's got a slight tweak in his calf so we have been trying to focus all his energy into the games."

Midfielders Paolo Vernazza and Marcus Browning remain sidelined, along with Lewis Ironside and Jake Hyde, while Mark Convery begins a three-match ban after being sent-off against Droylsden.

* Ballot boxes for the fans to vote for their Player of the Year will be situated around the Wessex Stadium tomorrow * Weymouth Supporters' Travel Club is running a coach to the FA Trophy Final at Wembley on Saturday, May 10.

The cost of the trip, to see Ebbsfleet United versus Torquay United, will be £45 for adults and £32.50 for children under-16 and OAPs. Telephone Ian White on 836361.

This trip is open to everyone.
