A HUGE weight was lifted off Stuart Beavon's shoulders when he bagged his first Blue Square Premier goal for seven months.
The Weymouth striker grabbed the opening goal in Tuesday night's 2-1 win over already relegated Droylsden - a victory that puts the Terras firmly in the driving seat in the race for survival.
Beavon, who will be looking to net his ninth of the season today (3pm) when Weymouth host Kiddermin-ster, said: "It wasn't a pretty game but we stuck together and gave it 100 per cent. We knew it was one of our biggest games and in the end I think we deserved the win.
"I know I haven't scored for a while and it has felt like a long time but in the previous few games I knew the goal was coming, so obviously it was nice to get the goal and be named man of the match as well.
"As soon as you score a goal you start thinking about getting the next one and the next one, but when you're not scoring your confidence is really low."
John Hollins' men moved up to 18th thanks to Tuesday night's success and other results going their way, which means the Terras are now three points clear of the drop-zone with three games left to play.

Beavon added: "All we can do is go into today's game against Kidder-minster and try to get three points, and then do the same on Tuesday at Aldershot.
"I suppose the pressure is now on the sides below us but as the gaffer says it doesn't matter what anyone else does, as long as we win our games we will be okay."
The majority of Beavon's goals this campaign were scored playing alongside Jefferson Louis who left the Wessex Stadium in January, but with 6ft 4in Matt Bailey on loan at the Terras, Beavon is enjoying the opportunity to play alongside
another target man.
The 23-year-old said: "It's easier when you've got a big man to play off. Matt was winning most of the balls in the air against Droylsden so it was just a matter of which way do I go to run off him, and I seemed to be going the right way most of the time."
