YEAR Four pupils from Dorchester have been exploring their local middle school in an orienteering competition arranged by the Dorchester Area Sports Programme.
Competing in both photo and punched orienteering disciplines, the students had a successful day organised by the pupils currently in Year Seven at St Osmund’s.
With the Year Four group due to make the move up to their middle schools in Sept-ember, the event gave the pupils a chance to have a look around their future school, as well compete against one another.
Levi Dailey, DASP sports co-ordinator said: “The effect orienteering has on the Year Four students not only lets them compete in a sports competition, but helps smooth the transition up to their local middle schools.
“The pupils are ready and can’t wait to come up to the middle schools now.”
