WEYMOUTH’S Sam Lycett and Dorchester duo Finly Abbott and Simon Wakely all recorded top-three finishes when Ringwood Motocross Club made their first ever visit to Little Silver Moto Park in Exeter for round 12 of the Club Championship Series.

County town rider Wakely was second behind Ryan Redwood in the adult expert open class after winning the last of the three races.

In the big-wheel 85cc section, Lycett, pictured, only just missed out on top spot overall, with the youngster having to settle for second.

Rival Louis Thomas claimed victories in motos two and three to clinch first place.

Only 27 of the 38 entries made it to the gate in the automatic 50cc class, though one of those was Abbott.

George Hopkins dominated the day, winning all three epic battles for a maximum score of 135 points.

His closest challenger was Henry Life, who really came to grips with the steep hills and deep red Devon soil, while Abbott battled well to finish third overall.
