DORCHESTER’S Luke Barton beat Charlie Bruce-White, the UK Super One number two, to win the Senior TKM final at Clay Pigeon Raceway.
In a race contested by 14 drivers in total, Barton, who made a brave overtaking move on the penultimate lap, moved from third to first and then hung on to beat Bruce-White by just 0.08secs.
He also managed to clock the fastest lap over the course of the day with a time of 35.52secs.
Commenting on his son’s performance, John Barton said: “This is a great achievement as it’s Luke’s first full year of racing, despite dropping a round due to GCSEs. This is Luke’s first win, which I’m sure will be the first of many.”
SENIOR TKM A FINAL 1 Luke Barton 9:35:84, 2 Charlie Bruce-White 9:35:92, 3 Tom Hackett 9:36:33.
