THE Dorset Area Schools’ partnership ran a Year Three and Four inclusion football festival for schools in and around the county town, at the Prince of Wales School.

In a contest where sides from the Prince of Wales, Piddle Valley, Puddletown First School and two teams from St Mary’s took part, battle commenced and there were some impressive skills on show.

Puddletown looked strong in defence with Price of Wales always charging hard and Piddle Valley were well organised on set-pieces.

The St Mary’s Scorchers and Spartans also put in good showings. The Spartans worked well as a team, and the Scorchers hammered in shot after shot on goal.

Olympic Legacy Leader Elliott Sawyer, who ran the tournament, announced that it was Piddle Valley who eventually triumphed.

Speaking on behalf of the Dorset Area Schools Partnership, Levi Dailey said: “It was a terrific morning of football and congratulations go out to all of the teams who entered.

“But special congratulations must go to Mr Sawyer, and the deserved winners of Piddle Valley and their manager Mr Wash. I am already looking forward to next year’s competition”
