BEN Westhenry and Chris Perham both excelled at the Dorset County Cross Country Championships in Bournemouth.
The Thomas Hardye School duo competed in the Senior Boys’ race (Years 12-13) where Westhenry finished over a minute ahead of the rest of the field to take the title with biathlete Perham closing fast on the runner-up to take third.
Sam Hurlstone also took part in the same race and came 15th in his first county championships while D Baggs just missed out on the medals in the Senior Girls’ race where she finished fourth.
In the Inter Girls (Years 10-11), Hilary Hansford and Amy Buttle finished fourth and seventh respectively, and there was also dual representation in the Inter Boys where F Johnson took seventh ahead of Peter Horne in 11th.
S Easterbrook also ran under the colours of Thomas Hardye in the Junior Girls (Years 8-9) where she came 14th.
The event also saw All Saints pupils Hannah Westhenry, Lily Young and Jocelyn Savill finish 78th, 79th and 96th respectively, and Zoe Gowers of Dorchester Middle come home in seventh with another year still to go in the same age group.
