Dorchester teenager Matt Sturmey has taken the Ringwood Motocross Club (MCF) by storm this season.

The county town youngster posted another first overall position after the local Charminster star beat off some strong challenges from some tough competition in his three races at the Tincleton circuit, near Dorchester.

Sturmey, a pupil at Thomas Hardye School , is currently holding a solid podium finish for the end-of-year Championship deciders in the Senior/Rookies class and still has his sights set on becoming Ringwood Club champion.

He said: “I must thank my whole family for their continued support over the years, it’s been a great year so far and I still massively enjoy my motocross and my KTM 144cc is a fantastic bike.

“Tony Moto MX Park near Winchester is a purpose-built motocross circuit which I love and I’ll be racing there this Sunday.”

Having also qualified for this year’s MC Federation Grand Slam Final, which is being held in Oxford at the end of September, Sturmey will also be representing Team Ringwood for the very first time in the MCF team event that same weekend.

The Ringwood Motocross Club (MCF) are always on the lookout for any new members so anyone wishing to become involved or would like to help out marshalling at any time can contact Natasha Abbott on 07547 724585 for more details.
