WEYMOUTH WIZARDS 6 WEYMOUTH WANDERERS 1

THE Wizards produced a spellbinding performance to overcome the Wanderers in a seaside derby.

Despite a changed defence of Daniel Souster, Jake Dawes and Sol Mathias, the Wizards were able to create several early chances but the brave visiting back-line held firm for much of the first half.

However, approaching the break, the Wizards broke free down the right side where Scott Squibb managed to pass two players before lofting the ball into the box. Souster then smashed home with a turn and volley that nearly burst the net.

Within minutes it was 2-0 as captain Billy Hathway drilled home his 19th goal of the season.

The second half saw Squibb add two more goals, taking his tally to eight for the campaign. Mathias also got in on the act as he cut inside to score from distance before tapping in his second of the day.

Billy Neale almost scored for a third consecutive game but was twice denied by the woodwork. The final goal of the match went the way of the Wanderers who never gave up and got a deserved consolation.
