TIMES tumbled at Weymouth Swimming Club's latest Rainbow Gala.
Orange Group's Rachel Dumbrell produced a clean sweep, winning the backstroke, breaststroke, fly and freestyle events but there was no such dominance in the boys' section where Aidan and Cameron Finn battled for supremacy.
Aidan ended up taking the honours in the backstroke, freestyle and backstroke but it was Cameron who took the butterfly.
In Pink Group the honours in the girls' section were shared between Morgan Wheaton (backstroke, free-style), Phoebe Murphy (fly) and Molly Ewer (backstroke).
The freestyle event was thrilling with Wheaton, Murphy and Ellen Seagen all touching at the same time but it was the former that got the nod from the referee.
For the boys, Billy Ray James won the fly but it was Lewis Mussenden who really excelled, gaining success in the three other strokes.
Amelia Westlake (fly), Alex Arnold (freestyle), Alicia Ledger (breaststroke) and Natasha Hallet (backstroke) all impressed for the Development squad, which also saw Shane James take three golds (backstroke, backstroke, freestyle) and Oliver Cadman win one in the fly.
Joshua Brunell (backstroke, freestyle, breaststroke) was another big winner at the event along with Rachael Knight (backstroke, freestyle, breaststroke), who also won a trio of races.
Emma Adams (backstroke, free-style), Harry Fairman (backstroke) and Nick Priestley (freestyle) were all successful in Blue Group while Ellie Anger (breaststroke), Melanie Hallet (backstroke), Kate Seagan (freestyle), Samuel Mills (backstroke) and Hans-Patrick Rieckhoff (breaststroke, freestyle) produced the goods in Green Group.
Jade Group saw Emma Russell (backstroke) and Bethany Carr (freestyle) perform well in the girls' section. Their fine achievements were followed by victories for William Walden, who won the backstroke, breaststroke and freestyle.
Mauve Group was dominated by Clare Phelan (backstroke, freestyle), Shannon Doyle (breaststroke) and Toby Manning (freestyle, backstroke, breaststroke).
A club spokesman said: "The gala was well supported and the crowd undoubtedly helped the young swimmers achieve so many great results."
