SUPER SIXES: Southwell Primary School, winners of the Nash Cup. Back row, left to right: Chad White, Aiden Jackson, George Barger, Jordon Kinsey, Rhodri Tanner.
SOUTHWELL Primary School lifted the Nash Cup for the first time with victory over Chickerell Primary in the final.
Headteacher Stuart McLeod was full of praise for the pupils who triumphed in the six-a-side contest at Redlands.
He said: "It's a marvellous achievement and the boys deserve great praise because it's the first time we have ever won the cup.
"Eight teams competed and we were split into two groups. We faced Bincombe Valley, Chickerell and St Augustine's before playing Southill in the quarter-finals which we won 3-0.
"We then beat Beechcroft in the semis, 3-0 again, and went on to overcome Chickerell 1-0 in the final having drawn 1-1 with them in the group stage."
