CHICKERELL United's Under-8s have enjoyed an excellent first season under the guidance of manager Colin Brumble.

The Chickens finished the season as runners-up in Section Three having played some excellent passing football.

The side started the season slowly but made rapid improvement.

Brumble said: "I'm delighted with their progress and looks forward to entering the squad at under-9 level next season Anyone interested in joining the squad will be welcomed and should contact Colin on 07831 690 573.

Brumble added: "I would especially like to thank all the parents for turning out each week and supporting the boys despite, at times, some atrocious weather conditions.

"I would also like to thank main sponsors Wessex Plumbing and Heating Services for providing training tops and jackets for the season and a big thank-you must go to the players for playing good quality football and conducting themselves in a manner that is a credit to Chickerell FC."
