IN wet and windy conditions Weymouth lifted the County Cup after overcoming rivals Dorchester Town.
The Magpies made the better start and took an unexpected lead.
Weymouth's defence of Jess Taylor, Georgia Rogers, Sarah Draper and Ellen Tilsed then began to impose themselves and shut out any Dorchester attacks.
Rogers then levelled the scores with a stunning free-kick from 40 yards.
Weymouth began the second half with Bryony Webb making several good runs down the
wing and it was not long before a great passing move involving Jody Urwin, Webb and
Rachel Pedder resulted in Amy Kelly
putting in Weymouth's second from close
range.
The third came from a great through ball from Carla Lyons, which was picked up by Danni Ormesher who surged past two defenders, and struck the ball with such venom the keeper had no chance.

The final whistle brought about a jubilant celebration for Weymouth as they were beaten finalists last year.
The county cup decorated in claret and blue ribbons was collected by captain Jody Urwin, long-term injury victim Sophie Hardy and Georgina Hartley who was ruled out due to Weymouth only being able to name 14 of their 17 strong squad.
The girls thanked their manager Mark Rogers and coach Tim Davis for all their hard work this season.
Weymouth: Claire Tranter, Jess Taylor, Georgia Rogers, Ellen Tilsed, Sammi Whisker, Jody Urwin, Danni Ormesher, Carla Lyons, Bryony Webb, Chloe Lea, Amy Kelly, Rachel Sykes and Rachel Pedder. Three other squad members were Sophie Hardy, Georgina Hartley and Lola Martin.
