We all know that to drive at more than 30 mph through Chideock is dangerous and, dare I say it, illegal.
All right, someone got a road name wrong in the traffic regulation order, but the right intention was there, and everyone knew it.
If they didn't, there were enough signs - in the correct places - to tell them.
Wouldn't it be nice if people said ‘I know there was a technical error, but I was in the wrong and I accept my punishment’.
What do I think of people who claim back fines, some after more than 10 years, which they thoroughly deserved? Pathetic!
And, in answer to the oft-trotted out bleat that ‘it's all about money’ (which it isn't), you can prevent the authorities earning any money at all by keeping to the speed limit.
