I have just received, after some prevarication my £60 cheque for the refund of my speeding ticket from the notorious Chideock speed camera.
This I regard as a moral victory over an unfair and ineffective system.
It was for me never about the money.
I am fortunate that £60 will not make much difference to my life.
There are many to whom that much is a big hit on their weekly budget and they, unlike people in the system or wealthy media personalities, have to take it without being able to challenge it.
However, I am sure that there are many who are in a similar position to me.
I therefore invite all those who can, and who stuck out on principle, to donate the money to the disaster appeal for the Haitian earthquake victims, as I am.
