I would like to take this opportunity to pass on my condolences to the family of Adie Voss, who sadly passed away at his Weymouth flat.
I met Adie at Bridport CC and he instantly made me and my family feel very welcome.
He was 1st XI umpire during my short spell at the club and I have some happy memories of him.
Vossy was a very fair umpire and a man of principle who stood by his decisions and principles, even when faced with, at times, unreasonable behaviour.
I personally found him to be a kind man who was prone to spontaneous gestures of generosity.
Like all of us, Vossy was not without his flaws but this made him the character he was and I for one will miss the banter that was never far from his lips.
I am sad that I never got the chance to join him at Fratton Park to watch his beloved Pompey. RIP Vossy.
