We would like, on behalf of the South West Dorset Talking Newspaper to thank customers and staff in Morrisons in Weymouth and Waitrose in Dorchester for their generosity and courtesy in supporting our organisation.
For 22 years we have supplied weekly news and magazine tapes (now also CDs) to visually impaired people within our community.
This is a completely free service as we rely entirely on public donations – and the £292.90 collected at Morrisons and £317.00 in Waitrose via their Community Matters green token system is so much appreciated.
As we all know, technology is forever changing and the use of CDs actually costs us a lot more than cassette tapes.
But as CDs give a much clearer result for our listeners, it is a cost which we would not wish to avoid.
So, thank you everyone – your donations are much appreciated by us all.
