Taken short change

I don’t dispute the charging for using public toilets if this means better cleanliness, etc, but the main problem is having the required coins when ‘taken short’.

Change machines may be of use but how do you stop them being vandalised – and what if you only have notes.

It means that you must always carry the appropriate change with you, wherever you go.

So when you go shopping you need two coins £1 for the shopping trolley and 20p for the toilets plus a handful of other change for the parking meters, although the way things are going a credit card might soon be more appropriate

I thought we were supposed to becoming a cash free society where you pay for everthing with a wave of your plastic.

Shock! Horror! People to be forced to carry lose change about to pay for things. It will be the end of civilisation as we know it. Wouldn't have happened in the old days. Then we had no need to carry change about on the off chance of having to spend a penny (the olden times equivalent of a 20p charge). No change required for car parks, bus fares, newspaper vending machines or even shopping. Dam-n and blast the modern world and it's newfangled ideas.
