I MUST respond to Councillor Howard Legg’s letter ‘Patience please, it’s not complete’, (Have Your Say, January 25).
Firstly he describes the fairy lights as catenary – a nice engineering term – when I know everyone else in the town would say they were the jewels in Weymouth’s crown.
Most towns only get this ‘feel good’ factor at Christmas – we had it year-long.
I know of no one who has received a detailed reply on the issue of our seafront lighting.
I would ask him to detail all the improvements we will see – but please don’t mention the lasers!
This is just another case of the council knowing what is best for the town folk without actually asking anyone – we used to call it the ‘mushroom syndrome’.
Is there any chance of our elected councillors or council officers actually listening to the residents or is this just another legacy from the Olympics?

Highly unlikely, they believe they own the town not custodians.
please don’t mention the lasers.
Health and safety, flashing lights and epilepsy?
I'm afraid all these "improvements" are a Leggacy of the olympics.
