It is early February, it is freezing cold, the wind seems even colder, yet Weymouth is positively buzzing.
Being oldies with not a lot to do each day, we walk and observe.
Throughout the town, there is much activity.
The Greenhill area is currently having the ‘olde world’ lamps installed, the promenade shelters are having underfloor lights installed, the promenade is about to have a new surface laid and power cables suggest the laser lights can’t too far off.
St Alban Street has gas fitters on the doorstep and the dilapidated sandman attraction is about to be replaced.
The tower is well under construction and many shops are taking advantage of the quiet period to undergo improvements to their interiors.
The statue of Sir Henry Edwards is having a wall replacement.
One has to acknowledge how unattractive working in these conditions is, so well done if you are one of those guys working out there.
So if this is February, what will March bring?
