No events just before Olympics

I have just got back from a walk along the seafront harbourside and town.
It’s 8pm on a Saturday night, two weeks before the Olympics and what do I find? Absolutely nothing. No events, enthusiasm, interest or even people.
How about we do the unthinkable and admit that this is a joke, perpetrated by time serving politicians and people who hope to gain financially from this farce.
I for one wish that they were somewhere else as this is embarrassing.

What sort of events were you expecting two weeks before the opening ceremony?
Like me, you may have received a flyer through the letterbox today advertising the Bayside Festival which runs everyday/night between 27th - 12th August.
From this camp, you do have enthusiasm and interest in the weeks ahead.
