Notice of Confirmation of Rail Crossing Diversion and

Definitive Map and Statement Modification Order Highways Act 1980 Wildlife and Countryside Act 1981 Dorset County Council (Footpath 15, Wool) Rail Crossing Diversion Order 2018

On 7 June 2019 Dorset Council confirmed the above named order made under Section 119Aof the Highways Act 1980 (as amended by the Transport and Works Act 1992) as unopposed and the Council has certified that work has been carried out to bring the site of the new highway mentioned in article 3 of the order into a fit condition for use by the public.

The effect of the order as confirmed is to divert the public Footpath in Wool as shown on the Order map as follows: Footpath 15, Wool:

From the existing path - From its junction with the A352 Dorchester Road at SY 84168683, north north west across the railway to its junction with East Burton Road, south east of Whitemead Lodge at SY 84158685. (No recorded width). To a new path - From its junction with the A352 Dorchester Road at SY 84148681, north west along a tarmac surfaced path to SY 84138682, turn east north east via steps to SY 84158683,then north north west, across a bridge overthe railway to SY 84148684. Continue west south west, via steps adjacent East Burton Road and to the south west of Whitemead Lodge to its junction with the public highway at SY 84128684. The width varies; 2.3 metres between SY 84148681, SY 84138682, and SY 84158683,2.21 metres between SY 84158683, and SY 84148684,2.3 metres between SY 84148684 and SY 84128684.

A copy of the order as confirmed and the order map have been placed and may be seen free of charge at Reception, County Hall, Colliton Park, Dorchester during normal office hours. Copies of the order and map may be bought there at the price of £10.00. Copies are also available on our website at

The order comes into force on 14 June 2019 but if any person aggrieved by the order wants to question its validity, or that of any provision contained in it, on the ground that it is not within the powers of the Highways Act 1980, as amended, or on the ground that any requirement of the Act, as amended, or of any regulation made under the Act has not been complied with in relation to the order, he or she may, under paragraph 2 of Schedule 2 to the Act as applied by paragraph 5 of Schedule 6to the Act, within six weeks from 8 August 2019, make an application to the High Court.

and

Definitive Map and Statement Modification Order

Highways Act 1980

Wildlife and Countryside Act 1981 Dorset County Council (Footpath 18, Wool at Hyford) Rail Crossing Extinguishment Order 2018

On 7 June 2019 Dorset Council confirmed the above named order made under Section 118Aof the Highways Act 1980 (as amended by the Transport and Works Act 1992)

as unopposed.

The effect of the order as confirmed is to extinguish the public footpath running from its junction with the C33 road, north north west of the property Fantasia at SY 81678746, south south west along the tarmac surfaced driveway to Fantasia and across a small section of grass to SY 81658742 then continuing south south west across the railway (known as Hyford Crossing) to its junction with Bridleway 24, Wool and Bridleway 3, Winfrith Newburgh at the Winfrith Newburgh parish boundary at SY 81658740, as shown on the Order map. (No recorded width).
