Temporary 40 mph Speed Restriction -A351,Wareham By-Pass
DORSET COUNCIL has made an Order under Section 14  of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended. The order is needed to comply with Health and Safety Regulations, which require the provision of safe working areas and to minimisethe likelihood of danger to Highway Users. The order will come into operation on Monday 09 September 2019 and will remain in force for 18 months. It is anticipated thatthe works will be completed by
The order is to create a safer working area for Dorset Council operatives during works to widen the existing footway to form a shared foot / cycleway on the A351, Wareham by-pass between the Worgret and Saxon roundabouts.
The effect of the order is as follows:
 To impose a 40 mph speed limit on the A351, Wareham by-pass between the Worgret and Saxon roundabouts, a distance of approximately 1,200 metres. Please note that, although preliminary verge works will begin on this scheme in September, no works will be permitted that restricts the A351 carriageway whilst the Sandbanks / Studland Ferry is suspended.
