The County of Dorset (Long Bridge Way and St Georges Road, Dorchester) (Weight Restriction) Order 2019
Dorset Council in exercise of powers under Sections 1,2 and 3 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 ("the Act") and of all other enabling powers and after consultation with the Chief Officer of Police in accordance with Paragraph 20 of Schedule 9 of the Act, hereby propose to make the following Order. When the Order comes into operation on 27 December 2019 the effect of the Order will be to prohibit any vehicle, in excess of 7.5 tonnes maximum gross weight, from proceeding on Long Bridge Way and part of St Georges Road, Dorchester. A copy of the Order together with a plan showing the length of roads affected may be inspected from Monday to Friday during normal office hours at:- Main Reception, Dorset Council, County Hall, Colliton Park, Dorchester.

If you wish to question the validity of the Order or any provisions contained in it on the grounds that it is not within the powers conferred by the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 or on the grounds that any requirement of that Act or of any Instrument made under it has not been complied with in relation to the Order you may within six weeks of the date of this Notice apply to the High Court for that purpose. Temporary Closure of Astrid Way & Crescent Street, Weymouth
DORSET COUNCIL intend, not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make an Order under Section 14 [1] of the Road Traffic Regulations Act 1984, as amended. All vehicles will be prohibited from proceeding along ASTRID WAY& CRESCENT STREET, WEYMOUTH. The closures will be in place at [1] Astrid Way, Weymouth, between the junction of The Esplanade and the junction with Crescent Street and [2] Crescent Street, between the junction of Harwick Street and the junction with Astrid Way. The order is needed in order to comply with health and safety regulations, which require the provision of safe working areas and to minimise the likelihood of danger to highway users. It will come into operation on 6th January 2020 and will remain in force for 18 months. however it is anticipated that the works will be completed by 14th February 2020.
This Order will enable JDT Utilities on behalf of SGN safe access to replace the existing gas main.
An alternative vehicular route will be signed using; Crescent Street- Hardwick Street - Queen Street - Stanley Street.
