The Environment Agency is applying to the Secretary of State for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs for a transfer licence to abstract (take) water for a previously exempt abstraction. The application is within the Frame, Piddle and West Dorset catchment. The Environment Agency is giving notice of this application, in accordance with Section 37 of the Water Resources Act 1991 and The Water Abstraction (Transitional Provisions) Regulation 2017.
Further details of the proposal are: The application is for a licence to abstract (take) water from the River Frame near Moreton, Dorset at National Grid Reference SY 81415 88977 to transfer it to River Frame North Channel System at the given National Grid Reference for the purpose of wet fencing and nature conservation. This existing abstraction was previously exempt from the need for a licence under the Water Resources Act 1991 and takes place all year round.
