EXTENSIONS TO UNDERHILL, GROVE & PORTLAND CONSERVATION AREAS, PORTLAND, DORSET
Notice is given regarding section 69 of the Planning (Listed Buildings and Conservation Areas) Act 1990 that Weymouth & Portland Borough Council's Management Committee on 7 March 2017 resolved to designate extensions:
Underhill Conservation Area to include: Gardens/land at the rear of Ventnor Rd and Old Hill plus the Old Rectory.
Grove Conservation Area to include: Amenity space opposite St Peter's Church, Allotments at the rear of the Clifton Hotel and Part of Incline Rd plus the Engine Shed.
Portland (Easton, Reforne, Straits, Wakeham) Conservation Area to include: Garden/land behind Glen Caravan Park & Nos 148-154 Wakeham, Railway line either side of Mermaid Bridge, Garden/land behind 54-84 Wakeham, Nos 11-19 & 15 Moorfield Rd and East side of St George's Rd (Nos 1-28).
The designations are effective immediately.
Conservation area designation may affect a property owner's Permitted Development rights, including the demolition of unlisted buildings and the felling or lopping of trees. The appropriate committee report is available to the public at www.dorsetforyou.com and at the borough council's offices, Commercial Road, Weymouth, Dorset, DT4 8NG.
